Assistance has been given to many worthy groups,charities & individuals Such past projects have included:- The purchase of a mini-bus. Sponsoring a 'scooter' for shopmobility. Helping to support the local hospice & hospital. Helping to support the Warwickshire Air Ambulance Assisting theatre & perfoming groups with equipment Sponsoring an annual Trophy for a swimming club for the disabled. Supporting a group helping to overcome a specific learning difficulty. Sponsoring a horse for a group who give riding lessons to the disabled. Annually the civic bonfire is organised in association with Round Table. The Club fits Audible Carbon Monoxide detectors to the homes of the elderly. Helping to support the West Midlands Air Ambulance through the Mayors appeal. Gifting a bench to the town, commemorating the Queens Jubilee & the club's 25th charter year. There is an emphasis on youth projects:- Supporting local schools with practical assistance. Funding a local group for the homeless with starter kits. Supplying TACADE drugs awareness kits to local schools. Assisting individual young people with educational, living & recreational resources. Bedworth lions Club in conjunction with our mother club Nuneaton is pleased to sponsor the Green Schools Award as part of Nuneaton & Bedworth in Bloom, again showing our commitment to both youth & environmental issues. RECENT  PRESIDENTS'   PROJECTS Past Eric departed from the norm in 2003 - 2004. Asking local groups & individuals to contact the club with their bids for support in his his year the following were supported:- Dyslexia Association, Bedworth Disabled Swimming Club, Various Play Groups, & of course the individual bequests. He supported the Mayor, with his Chetwynd House Mencap project. The first Bedworth Lions Awareness Month was introduced along with radio station GB4BLC (a special event amateur radio station). Lion Brian (G8GMU) opening up his home to the public for the event. 'Lions Bravery Awards' have been introduced. These 'fun awards' help younger children when they have undergone treatment at the Dentist, Hospital or a like experience. Lion Eric greatly encouraged the introduction of Data Link, now a major on going project. Immediate past President Dave continued Lion Eric's project in 2004 - 2005. Asking LOCAL groups & individuals to contact the club with their bids for support in his his year. He also supported the Mayor's appeal, Warwickshire Air Ambulance & increased the club's promotional opportunities. During this time the club was involved in Tsunami relief, collecting for Red Cross & assisting loading vehicles with large amounts of aid, during the 2nd Bedworth Lions Awareness Month. For 2006 - 2007 Lion President Brian will be promoting Message In A Bottle & attempting to promote Amateur Radio as hobby to local schools. We will not name the many individuals we have assisted, without their consent
